Erdem Spring/Summer 2016
Designer Erdem Moralioglu started his label in London in 2005 his brand, ERDEM, has come to be synonymous with versatile yet powerful femininity.
For Spring/Summer 2016, Erdem explores the ideas of displacement and his heroine’s introduction to the open plain.
It reminds me of modern American Westerns films like “True Grit” and “The Homesman” , where the female leading parts are strong of mind and personality yet so delicate in what they wear, how they speak creating a dramatic contrast with the rash environment they live.
Erdem creates for the modern heroin, who is strong but does not abdicate of her femininity.
I love how Erdem uses lace to construct the dresses, all the tiny buttons used in many of his dresses and the superb workmanship displayed in every detail of this collection.
