Good news for Australian designers showing at MBFW in Sydney, overseas buyers are loving our designers.
This year’s edition of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Sydney has seen an increase in overseas buyers of locally-designed products, largely due to a social media campaign run by event organisers.

Wen hails from Hainan, China, and came to the U.S. six years ago. He loved art from early childhood and was encouraged to become a designer by his high school art teacher. He counts John Galliano as his icon, and like the former Dior creative director, thinks of himself as a storyteller designer. Wen also has a passion for textiles, as the elaborately woven materials in his thesis project suggest.

Emma Watson, is quietly making an impact on the way we wear fashion, her Met Gala dress is stunning, “a masterpiece” in her own words. In this video she talks to Derek Glasberg for CNN, about the creative process and the materials chosen to fashion her dress, the fabric used was made from Newlife, a yarn made from 100 percent post-consumer plastic bottles; and the detailing on the bustier was made with organic silk and cotton.
